Single Terminals

The Cliff™ range of single terminal binding posts is designed for use in varied applications including professional and consumer audio, test and measurement, power supplies and industrial uses. Terminal spindles and mounting hardware are manufactured from high quality solid brass, either nickel or gold plated. Plastic parts are moulded molded from tough glass reinforced nylon or polypropylene. Mounting hardware is normally supplied unassembled. We can supply assembled and packaged for distributors.

Significant Features

• Precision plastic moldings and stamped or machined brass, nickel, or gold plated metal parts.
• TP-6 terminals are intended for higher current applications and feature extra large cross holes for heavy conductors and the Cliff™ castellated knob for coin tightening.

Technical Data

All terminals are supplied with the mounting hardware unassembled as standard, or assembled on request. The mounting hardware supplied depends on the model ordered. TP-1,2,3,4 and 6 have 2BA threaded spindle and the TP-6 CT has a 10 x 32 UNF threaded spindle, (U.S.A. standard). All models can be supplied with either a nickel or gold plated finish and different stud lengths and styles are available. Standard colours colors are black and red, however other colours colors are available subject to availability or a minimum order quantity. We make a number of plastic mounting plates into which we can mount most of these models.

single terminal binding posts TP-1 to 4 and 6

• TP-1 to TP-4 Non touch-proof, single models available in 8 colours. colors. They can accommodate a 4mm 'banana' plug in the top hole and/or a 2mm plug in the cross hole. Available in 2 stud lengths. Rated 15A.
• TP-5 to TP-6 Single terminals intended for higher current applications up to 30A. They incorporate top and cross holes of Ø4mm and are available in 2 stud lengths. These terminals can be fitted into the mounting plate TPP/1. TP-6 is supplied with a plain threaded spindle rather than solder spill.

Single Touch-Proof Terminals

The Cliff™ range of single touch proof terminal binding posts is designed for use in varied applications including professional and consumer audio, test and measurement, power supplies and industrial uses. Terminal spindles and mounting hardware are manufactured from high quality solid brass, either nickel or gold plated. Plastic parts are moulded molded from tough glass reinforced nylon, polypropylene or clear resin. Terminals are shrouded and touch proof to reduce the risk of accidental electric shock in higher current applications and also comply with European safety regulations. Most models are UL approved.

• All models have the Cliff™ castellated knob.
• Conform to the general requirements of UL 813 and BS EN 60065.
• Terminals are touch proof to reduce the risk of accidental electric shock in higher current applications.

Technical Data

All terminals are supplied with one plain washer, one spring washer and one nut. TP-44 has a 10 x 32 UNF thread. TP-60 has 1/4” UNF thread. All models can be supplied with either a nickel or gold plated finish and different stud lengths are available. Red and black blanking plugs are available for inserting into the 4mm end-holes to comply with European safety regulations. Clear plastic knobs with coloured colored idents can be supplied to order, subject to quantity. Especially used on gold plated versions.

single touch-proof terminal binding posts TP-44 and TP-60

• TP-44 A single terminal made with a touch-proof design. UL and BS EN 60065 Section 15 approved. May be used chassis mounted or mounted into recess plates. For use up to 30A. Particularly appropriate for use in test instruments. Rated EN 61010-1 300V Cat II pollution degree 2.

   

• TP-60 S Professional, heavy duty, single touch-proof binding post designed for high current pro. audio applications. Rated up to 60A. The terminal has a Ø6mm cross hole and accepts up to 6 gauge speaker wire.

   

• TP-60 L A version of the TP-60 with a long stud length.

   

• TP-60 SG This is a clear plastic and gold version of the TP-60 designed for 'top end' applications.

   

Dual Terminals

The Cliff™ range of dual terminal binding post assemblies is designed for use in varied applications including professional and consumer audio, test and measurement, power supplies and industrial uses. Terminal spindles and mounting hardware are manufactured from high quality solid brass, either nickel or gold plated. Plastic parts are moulded molded from tough glass reinforced nylon or polypropylene. TPP-4 and TPP-5 assemblies are fully insulated and touch proof to reduce the risk of accidental electric shock in higher current applications and also comply with European safety regulations.

TPP-3 and TPP-5 have a 10 x 32 UNF thread and TPP-4 has 2BA thread. All models can be supplied with either a nickel or gold plated finish and different stud lengths are available on certain models. Clear plastic knobs and fittings can be supplied on custom versions. Red and black blanking plugs are available for inserting into the 4mm end-holes to comply with European safety regulations.

• TPP-3 CT Non touch-proof dual assemblies. Ø4mm cross hole. TPP-2 also available with a Ø2mm cross hole.

   

• TPP-4 Fully touch-proof dual assemblies. UL approved and comply with BS EN 60065 section 15 European legislation requirements. Ø4mm cross hole. These are supplied with a plain threaded spindle rather than solder spill.

   

• TPP-5 CT Fully touch-proof dual assemblies. UL approved and comply with BS EN 60065 section 15 European legislation requirements. Ø4mm cross hole and spade terminal slot.

   

• TPP-5 CT/PC A version of the TPP-5CT for PCB mounting.

   

PCB Mounting Terminals

The Cliff™ range of PCB mounting terminal binding post assemblies are supplied pre-assembled and ready to drop into the board for either hand or wave soldering, (TPP-5M/PCX is hand solder only). For OEM's, modular assemblies facilitate rapid construction on production lines. We produce numerous variants of our terminals mounted on PCB brackets, (U.K. and U.S. patented). Both horizontal and vertical PC mounting brackets are available with dual or quad terminal assemblies. Assemblies can be supplied using standard and custom parts to meet special requirements.

Technical Data

All Cliff™ PCB mounting terminal binding post assembly terminals can be supplied with either a standard nickel or gold plated finish. PC layouts and panel cut out dimensions are available upon request. We offer many different standard and custom configurations, subject to reasonable minimum order quantity. BFA® Safety Terminals

Cliff™ produced BFA® terminals in response to the European industry safety requirements to prohibit the use of banana plugs. All our basic models are offered in this style. The 4mm socket is replaced by a 4mm spring contact probe. Cross holes for wire connection are Ø3.6mm so banana plugs will not enter. They meet the norms of BS EN 60065 for audio applications.

BFA safety terminals

TP-6CS Hi Fi Terminals and Mounting Plates

We make a number of solid brass, gold plated models intended for use in Hi-Fi speaker applications. Our TP-6CS model is available mounted into our HFRP-01 Hi-Fi plate. Supplied complete with two gold plated bi-amp strips, this assembly is designed for ease of mounting a crossover network. Subject to quantity, we will supply it with a premounted crossover to your design.
