Mini DisplayPort Feedthrough Connector

From CLIFF Electronics.

CLIFF Electronics announces the addition of a mini DisplayPort to its market leading range of feedthrough connectors. Assembled in an industry-standard, 24 mm diameter, XLR-panel, cut-out, the mini DisplayPort, (miniDP or mDP), is a miniaturised version of the widely used DisplayPort audio-visual, digital interface.

Frequently fitted to PC and notebook motherboards and AV systems, unlike its mini-DVI and micro-DVI predecessors, the mini DisplayPort can drive display devices with resolutions up to 2560 × 1600 (WQXGA) in its DisplayPort 1.1a implementation, and 4096 × 2160 (4K) in its DisplayPort 1.2 implementation. With an adapter, the mini DisplayPort can drive display devices with VGA, DVI, or HDMI interfaces.

Cliff’s XLR-format connectors take advantage of the standard 24 mm diameter panel cut-out widely used in audio and broadcast systems. This is increasingly popular in instrumentation, medical and industrial applications due to the format’s flexibility, security and reliability.

A true feedthrough connector, the new CLIFF mini DisplayPort is connected on both sides of the control panel using standard cables, greatly simplifying system assembly. It is available with a plastic or metal faceplate, may be front or rear mounted to a panel and offers plain, countersunk or M3 threaded mounting holes.

John Hall, Managing Director of CLIFF Electronics, comments, “We have a large market supplying pro-audio, broadcast and audio-visual OEMs and systems integrators. Our new mini DisplayPort adds to our successful range of feedthrough connectors and comes a step closer to making us a one-stop-shop for system designers. All of our feedthrough connectors are mounted in the widely used XLR footprint, simplifying panel design and manufacture and improving system aesthetics. esthetics. We can also supply our new mini DisplayPort connectors pre-assembled in rack panels offering systems integrators fast and convenient system assembly.”.

Cliff’s feedthrough connectors now provide analogue, digital and optical connectivity in formats including RJ45, HDMI, BNC and USB3.0 compliant single and dual versions. Analogue, digital and optical feedthrough connectivity is available in formats including Firewire, HDMI A-to-A, 50 and 75 ohm BNC versions, USB2 A-to-B and B-to-A changer sockets, high speed USB type-C and USB3 to USB3 in various configurations. Also available are popular data and ethernet connectors including LC and SC fibre, fiber, (Duplex and Simplex), UTP and FTP RJ45s in both Cat6 and Cat5e, (shielded and unshielded), TOSLINK and RCA phono. phono / cinch.
